CLEFT-PALATE IN CHINA
When a child with a cleft-palate is born in China, this often means, due to the one-child policy, that the child is abandoned.
If the child is found, they end up in an orphanage, awaiting potential adoption.
Children appear to stay in orphanages longer and longer before they are adopted. In China these children are not ensured for health care and for that reason they can not apply for an operation. Foundation Care4Tina is concerned about the children's future perspectives.
